Move Well, Be Well
Whole Body. Whole Person.
Whole Body. Whole Person.
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you are here!
Here at Move Well, Be Well, PLLC, I am passionate about helping people be more fully present and invested into the passions, purposes and people that are meaningful to them.
If that is what you are looking for, then I hope to get the chance to work with you one day!
Whether you've been through Physical Therapy before or this may be your first time, I'll say up front that my approach is a little bit different from a typical outpatient ortho clinic. While I welcome and treat the normal gamut of orthopedic injuries, chronic pain and movement limitations, I do it with a holistic perspective and practice in mind.
What does this mean?
Not just treating WHAT hurts, but digging deeper to find out WHY it hurts. (This helps to maximize recovery, prevent re-injury, and reduces compensations).
Not just treating 1 body part, but the whole body as it is all interconnected and functions as a unit.
Not just treating your body, but taking the time to acknowledge your whole person and the thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences that affect you.
Paying attention to stress - where you hold it in your body, the emotions and mindsets that accompany or fuel it, and helping you body to more effectively process, release and respond to it.
Over the years, I've found that the combination of a knowledge of anatomy, restorative manual therapy, and rehabilitative exercise with a focus on soul care to be deeply healing, effective, and transformative.
Sometimes a sprained ankle is just a sprained ankle. Sometimes treatment is as easy as adjusting a posture or movement pattern, or adding a new stretch or strengthening exercise into your routine. Other times, it's complicated.
Healing is both an art and science
Pain in one area may be due to dysfunction in another.
Whether it's childhood injuries or coping mechanisms that have led to adulthood compensations, or recognizing that each person processes stress and injury in different ways that affects their bodies, I want to take the time to discover and honor that. This also helps to better inform how we can best work together towards deeper, longer lasting restorative changes.
