Here are some recommendations for tools that can help facilitate recovery and performance
My thoughts and recommendations are my own, but please note that these items are not one-size-fits all, nor may they be appropriate for your specific stage of recovery, need or body structure so an additional consult / research may be required.
I've put some hyperlinks below by different products so you can look at reviews, purchase, or see what types of products are available. If you happen to purchase through some of the links below, I may also earn a small commission for any qualified purchase as an Amazon, Cushion lab and Rad Roller affiliate.
Heskier's Tool: This tool is light, compact and a great ergonomic tool to facilitate myofascial release and pain relief.
Therapy tapes: Not all therapeutic tapes are created equal. Some can irritate, itch and cause a rash on the skin, especially if you buy cheaper brands. Kinesiotape and KT Tape are some good brands to try.
Body Blade: Great for shoulder stability as well as challenging your core and overall balance with dynamic movements and sports.
Wobble Disc: This is good for back mobility/pain, proprioception for ankle and balance, and postural strengthening. No brand is better than another from what I've seen so far. I'd go with the best deal, though ones with different surfaces are nice to challenge the body :).
Rad Roller: These are excellent for myofascial, spine, and muscle mobilization and pain relief tools for different parts of your body. In-Clinic, I have a variety of these tools on hand to try and offer them at a discounted price if interested. The rad micro rounds are especially great for tight hands and rad rounds for the feet.
(Amazon or use this Rad Roller link to get $5 off your purchase)Neuroball: This little ball is portable, great for travel or gym use, and awesome for releasing tension from your feet and hands and promoting balance from the ground up.
Atom: This ball is a bit heavier but is perfect for releasing your lower back, gluts, lats, Quadratus lumborum and pec. I bring this with me on my ski trips and it's helps with recovery and mobility after a long day.
Foam roller: These can be helpful at times for a "pin and stretch" multi-directional fascial release to hard to target areas. However, sometimes your body may need the opposite (such as cupping)
Therapy bands: For postural and recovery control, stability and strengthening. There are many different brands, but Therabands are very good with varied resistance and quality.
Theracane: This is a helpful tool to release hard to reach areas such as the back of your neck, mid back and hips. You can use it to help mobilize your joints, perform fascial and muscle release and it helps with proprioception as well.
TRX:
Cushion Lab: For those who work from home and would benefit from Back and Neck support, these offer great options with cute colors. There are also great pillows for supporting your neck while sleeping, including side sleeping.
(Amazon or use Cushion Lab for 10% discount on your order)
Super Feet: These provide awesome insole / arch support for all different foot types (high/low arch), uses (casual, high heels, dress shoes), and activities (skiing, running, hiking, etc). They also offer 60 day satisfaction guarantee. Most athletic shoes don't come with sufficient foot / arch support so replacing the stock insoles with ones that offer the support you need helps with alignment, performance, combating fatigue and reducing injury.
Incrediwear: These braces offer not just compression support, but their material properties help to reduce pain and inflammation, facilitate circulation, helps with arthritic joints, and helps to thermoregulate trouble areas. The knee brace seems particularly helpful for many athletes, though the elbow brace can help with arthritis.
